Physical product data can be digitised using 3D scan equipment. A laser scans the physical object and generates a point cloud.
This is transferred into surfaces which results in a 3D model. Enimco offers this service for 2 applications.
When products are made manually, e.g. objects with double-curved surfaces, products designed by an industrial designer and no
geometric data is available, or products where the 2D drawings are outdated, reverse engineering is the solution to generate this
data. The physical object is scanned by a 3D laser scanner and a 3D model is generated to make it possible to reproduce exact
copies of the physical model.
To verify the dimensional quality of parts, for instance to release a moldtool, measuring is the only way to this. When parts are
very complex a lot of dimensions needs to be checked which is very time consuming and costly. 3D measurement systems are available
which scan your product and immediately compare the collected data with the specifications. This creates a measurement report of
high quality within a very short time.
